ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Shellfish harvesting in areas of Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island will re-open on Saturday.

The Department of Environmental Conservation on Friday announced that shellfish harvesting in areas of Cold Spring harbor in Oyster Bay and Huntington will re-open after a malfunction of the wastewater treatment plant nearby.

On May 23, a malfunction in Oyster Bay Sewer District released thousands of gallons of partially treated sewage and sludge into Oyster Bay harbor.

A temporary closure still remains in effect for parts of Oyster Bay Harbor.
