Tysons transit plan worries planning official

Fairfax County Planning Commissioner Tim Sargeant, at-large, voiced a number of concerns regarding the Tysons Corner comprehensive plan before ultimately voting for its approval. A day after the vote, Sargeant had this to say:

“Commissioner [Walter] Alcorn and the county’s planning staff are to be congratulated for what has been accomplished regarding the transformation of Tysons. My concern is whether there is enough incentive in the plan to fund the necessary transportation and transit improvements to make transit-oriented development in Tysons successful, and mitigate the impacts to the surrounding communities.”
