John Podesta meets with Senate Intelligence Committee as part of Russia probe

Hillary Clinton’s former campaign chairman John Podesta spoke with investigators from the Senate Intelligence Committee on Monday, according to reports.

The committee is one of several investigating Russia’s interference in the 2016 election and possible collusion between Trump campaign officials and Russia. Podesta left the closed-door meeting with Intelligence Committee staff around 3:30 p.m. Monday afternoon, according to Politico.

The Intelligence Committee said it would not comment on Podesta’s meeting.

U.S. intelligence officials believe Russian-linked hackers gained access to Podesta emails last year, the contents of which were published by WikiLeaks before the 2016 election.

Podesta met with the House Intelligence Committee in June as part of its probe into Russian meddling.
