1976: Singer Tina Turner files for divorce from her abusive husband, record producer Ike Turner. After suffering a beating in Dallas, Tina left Ike. He reportedly pursued her for several months after. In her memoirs, Tina wrote that her then-husband was verbally, emotionally and physically abusive toward her.
