An elderly married couple died in a fatal car crash Sunday afternoon in Fairfax County.
Harry Emlet Jr., 83, was making a left turn off Arlington Boulevard into a shopping center when he failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was struck by a pick-up truck. He and his wife, Elinor Emlet, 85, who was riding in the car, were both pronounced dead at Inova Hospital.
The driver of the truck, a 41-year-old man from Rockville, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was released from the hospital, according to a police statement.
Fairfax police are investigating the accident.
