PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Rhode Island’s U.S. senators say the Senate Judiciary Committee has unanimously approved the nomination of former Glocester police chief Jamie Hainsworth to be the next U.S. Marshal for Rhode Island.

Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse said Thursday they will continue to work for his approval by the full Senate. Whitehouse is a member of the Judiciary Committee.
