University introduces first master’s degree in ‘Happiness Studies’

Some New Jersey students will have something to smile about next semester.

Centenary University announced its first program in positive psychology, which will offer a master’s degree in Happiness Studies, will begin this fall. It is a 30-credit program, which typically takes full-time students nearly two years to complete.

“If happiness is indeed so central to human pursuits, then the academic establishment has an obligation to seriously and systematically study its nature, antecedents and consequences,” its website reads.
