The Examiner’s Yeas and Nays guys, Jeff Dufour and Patrick Gavin, got a sneak peek at the most unnecessary, un-clamored for HBO documentary ever produced: “Thank you, Mr. President: Helen Thomas at the White House.” Turns out, the White House press corps is not liberal, no matter what you may think:
Thomas is asked whether most White House reporters are liberal. “Hell no!” she responds. “I’m dying to find another liberal open their mouths. Where are they!” Thomas – considered by many to be the dean of the White House press corps – has covered the White House for over 60 years, but it wasn’t until she left longtime employer United Press International and launched a column for Hearst newspapers that she felt completely free to reveal her real politics. She lets loose on presidential politics in the film…
That’d probably be more noteworthy if she didn’t let loose on presidential politics every time she’s in the press pool. For those of you who wish to see the film, it’s being screened at the National Press Club Wednesday. Yeas and Nays reports that she may not attend the screening due to health issues, so all joking aside,I hope she feels better soon.
