Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton confirmed Wednesday that he will be speaking at the Republican National Convention next week in Cleveland.
“Yes, Joe, I do intend to be speaking at the convention,” Cotton said on MSNBC Wednesday morning.
Cotton said his team is “waiting to nail down the final date and time,” but said he looks forward “to talking about our military and our veterans and what we need to do to make sure that we’re serving them so they can serve us.”
Cotton, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, has not formally endorsed presumed GOP nominee Donald Trump.
His name has been floated as a possible vice presidential pick. However, Cotton has shushed that speculation and said he is committed to serving Arkansas and spending time with his family. He announced on Twitter this week that he is expecting another son.
Other high ranking Republican speakers at the convention include House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.
