BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Restoration work has been completed on a landmark theater in Buffalo.
Shea’s Performing Arts Center now has freshly repaired and painted walls and ceilings in its main auditorium.
More than $37 million in public and private money has been spent over the last three decades to restore the 1926 theater.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo says Shea’s is a symbol of the Buffalo area’s resurgence.
Shea’s is modeled after grand old European opera houses and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
