Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh offered a strange description Thursday of how the Republican electorate might react if Donald Trump mercilessly attacks Hillary Clinton in the general election, as he’s frequently promised to do.
“If Trump is the nominee, and if he does unload on Hillary Clinton, let me just tell you something,” Limbaugh warned his viewers. “You do not know how many gazillion Americans are going to be delirious and orgasmic with delight and support.”
He continued, “There are gazillions of Americans who have had to suppress, have had to swallow, have had to just sit there and take whatever the Clintons have gotten away with since they entered the public national scene in 1992.”
According to Limbaugh, Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, have “gotten away with everything” and “nobody ever goes after them.”
“[But] if Trump hits her and criticizes her like the Clinton’s haven’t been [criticized before], you’re going to have people on that basis alone vote for the guy,” he predicted.
He claimed that the “pent-up anger against the Clinton Crime Family will come out” in the general election if Clinton emerges as the Democratic nominee.
But in order to make Americans “orgasmic,” Limbaugh suggested Trump would have to go beyond calling Clinton “Crooked Hillary.”
“If he goes after this email stuff, and Benghazi, and her general incompetence and Hillarycare, all of that stuff … That alone is going to wipe out some negatives,” he said, referring to the billionaire’s historically low favorability ratings that have many Republicans scared about how he would fare in a general election.
Limbaugh’s comments came just hours before Trump took the stage in Evansville, Ind., on Thursday, where he repeated his claim that the only thing the former secretary of state has going for her is “that she’s a woman.”
