WHO: Texas Department of Agriculture WHAT: Awarded $368,000 from a federal grant as corporate welfare for the Distant Lands Coffee company, which supplies about one-third of the coffee sold at McDonald’s restaurants worldwide.

WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: The money came from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development, which primarily provides housing for the poor. Instead, HUD money is providing bigger profits for coffee brewers.
