RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — In a July 8 story about the National Governors Association meetings, The Associated Press erroneously reported what Virginia taxpayers paid for Gov. Bob McDonnell to attend the 2011 NGA meeting in Utah.
The figure cited, $153,000, is the cost of NGA dues, which among other things covered McDonnell’s attendance at the Utah meeting as well as one held in the winter of 2011 in Washington. McDonnell’s flight to the Utah conference was covered by utility company Dominion Resources, and his lodging was paid for by his PAC, Opportunities for Virginia.
