NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — A Virginia Beach man has pleaded guilty to selling heroin to a 42-year-old man who later died of an overdose.
U.S. Attorney Dana J. Boente (BEN-tay) says 20-year-old Stephen Ron Martin II entered his plea on Friday in U.S. District Court in Norfolk. He’s scheduled for sentencing in January 2015, when he faces a minimum of 20 years in prison.
According to a statement of facts filed with Martin’s plea agreement, the defendant sold the heroin to Steven Bradley Nichols in October 2013. Martin purchased the drug from a dealer then sold it to Nichols.
Nichols was found dead in his Virginia Beach apartment by police. He died of acute heroin intoxication.
