SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The California Highway Patrol says two people died when the stolen BMW they were in crashed in San Francisco following a high-speed chase.

The BMW crashed and burst into flames early Wednesday morning at an off-ramp just off the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. The CHP says the incident began when its officers tried to stop the vehicle around 2:50 a.m. in downtown Oakland after learning it was stolen. They say the driver failed to pull over and got onto the Bay Bridge.

The ensuing chase reached speeds over 100 mph.

The occupants of the BMW have not been identified.
