Update 5:56 p.m.: D.C. police identified Fredy Manuel Lopez Juarez as the 38-year-old behind the wheel of a vehicle that crashed into another on Georgia Avenue NW Sunday, leaving the two occupants of the other vehicle with severe burns.
Police did not provide a place of residence for Juarez, who was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence.

Two men were severely burned after their vehicle caught fire in a crash in Northwest D.C.
An alleged drunk driver struck another vehicle at approximately 4:15 a.m. Sunday on the 4700 block of Georgia Avenue NW, according to D.C. police. Officers arriving at the scene found the two men trapped inside the struck, burning vehicle, and were able to remove them as flames overtook the passenger compartment.
The two men suffered third-degree burns over large portions of their bodies, and were transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The officers that pulled them from the car suffer minor burns to their arms and hands and were treated at the scene.
The driver of the striking vehicle, a 38-year-old male, was arrested for driving under the influence. He and the other passenger in his vehicle suffered minor injuries, police said.
Police did not identify any of the parties involved in the crash.
