Taxi driver robbed at knifepoint in Annapolis

Two teens armed with a knife robbed a taxi driver in Annapolis, Anne Arundel County police said.

The incident occurred at about 3:40 a.m. Saturday near the Hillsmere Library, located at 269 Hillsmere Drive in Annapolis. The cab driver told police that he picked up three people in downtown Annapolis who asked to be taken to Annapolis Neck Road in the Hillsmere area.

One of the male passengers paid his fare and exited at the intersection of Hillsmere Drive and Quiet Waters Park. The other two passengers then told the driver to take them to the Hillsmere Library. When they arrived at that destination, one of the suspects displayed a knife and demanded money. A struggle ensued, and the suspects took the driver’s money and fled, police officials said.

The suspects are described as two Hispanic males in their teens who are about 5-foot-5. They were wearing dark clothing.
