Man charged in Montgomery sex assault

Montgomery County police on Monday arrested a man who claimed he was a cop and forced a woman to have sex.

Nicholas Morales-Macedo, 21, of Silver Spring, was charged with a first-degree sex offense and one count of first-degree assault, police said Tuesday.

The woman met Morales-Macedo after posting an ad on backpage.com, a classified ad website. He invited her to his house for sex but once she was there and undressed he aimed a rifle at her, claimed he was a cop, and told her she could avoid arrest only by performing a sex act, police said.

The woman eventually escaped and notified police.

Morales-Macedo was arrested Monday after a search of his residence. He is being held on an unspecified bond.

Octogenarian worker killed at construction site

A worker in his 80s was killed Tuesday when he was struck by a truck at a construction site in Northeast Washington, police said.

The man, who worked at Fort Myer Construction Corp.’s asphalt division on the 1100 block of W Street NE died at a hospital.

The 9:30 a.m. incident was labeled an industrial accident and is being investigated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and D.C. police. Police did not release the victim’s name.

Police crack down on deadbeat dads

Police in Maryland said they made 51 arrests in a three-day operation targeting fathers facing child-support warrants.

Authorities closed 100 child support-related cases, according to the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office. Those arrested owed a total of $343,000 in back child support.

Maryland State police and sheriff’s offices from Prince George’s, Charles and Calvert counties investigated 286 warrants.
