Update April 1, 6:30 p.m.: Police describe the suspect that fled the scene as being between five-foot-10 and six feet tall and between the ages of 15 and 20. Police are offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
The two suspects in custody have been charged with assault with intent to robbery while armed. Their names have still not been released.
D.C. police arrested two men after a shooting Saturday afternoon in a parking lot outside the Takoma Recreation Center. A third suspect has not yet been arrested, police spokesman Officer Paul Metcalf said Sunday.
At about 3:15 p.m., three masked suspects — adult males in their late teens or 20s — attempted to rob four adult males on the 300 block of Van Buren Street Northwest, police reported. Police arrested two suspects, one with a gunshot wound. None of the victims were injured.
The suspects were initially described as wearing neon yellow and purple shoes, though Metcalf could not confirm if that was accurate. He would not release the names of the arrested suspects or a description of third suspect.
