Takoma Park police say they’ve arrested the man who used a cellphone to record video under a woman’s skirt.
Police became aware of the upskirting scheme in August after the suspect approached the same woman on consecutive days and asked for directions to College Park. On the second time, the woman noticed that the man kept brushing his backpack against the victim’s leg even as she tried to pull away.
The woman noticed that the suspect’s cellphone was recording underneath her skirt through a hole in his backpack. She attempted to take the bag, which ripped. The man took the bag and the cellphone and fled.
Last week, police received a call last week of a similar incident at the Takoma Metro station by the bus stop, and arrested 26-year-old Tapha Masai Nyang.
