Teen arrested for attempted robbery on Capital Crescent Trail

Montgomery County police arrested a teen for an attempted robbery on the Capital Crescent Trail.

Police said the 16-year-old Rockville teen, walking along with a group of other teens, approached two other 16-year-old males walking on the trail in Bethesda on Sept. 29. The Rockville teenager grabbed one of the two victims and demanded money. When the other victim stepped in to intervene, the Rockville teen punched him in the head and face before the groups were seperated.

The victims returned home before going to a local hospital for treatment. No money was stolen, according to police.

Police arrested the Rockville teen on Oct. 4 and charged him with attempted robbery and second-degree assault.
