U.S. marshals are looking for a bowlegged man on the run.
Authorities said Marcus Antonio Curry carjacked a person in Silver Spring in August, then forced the victim to drive to ATM machines and withdraw money. That same month, the 19-year-old Curry failed to show up in D.C. Superior Court for his sentencing on a gun conviction.
U.S. marshals say he has distinctive walk, and they’re asking the public for information to help find him.
“Curry has a very minimal criminal history but seems to be escalating quickly and dramatically,” said Supervisory Inspector Matt Burke, of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, or CARFTF. “We want to get him into custody quickly before he ends up hurting someone.”
Curry is listed as 5-foot-4 and 140 pounds. He is bowlegged and pigeon-toed and appears to hunch over when he walks.
Curry’s wanted on two felony warrants: kidnapping, armed robbery, carjacking and for failure to appear on a carrying a pistol without a license charge.
Law enforcement authorities say Curry has lived in Silver Spring and in Northeast Washington. He has been known to hang out in Capitol Heights in Prince George’s County, and the Trinidad neighborhood and around the Benning Road Metro station in D.C.
Anyone with information regarding Curry’s whereabouts can call the CARFTF at 301-489-1717.
