Three people were injured in a Saturday morning fire at the State Department, according to authorities.
A fire broke out in the ductwork on the building’s 7th floor as maintenance crews were working, according to media reports. Workers at the scene extinguished the fire before fire crews arrived, but three people were burned in the incident. The three were hospitalized: one with life-threatening injuries and two with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
It’s unclear how many workers were at the State Department building at the time of the fire.
