Three people were arrested in connection with the violent beating and robbery of a Capitol Hill man.
D.C. police said 21-year-old Tommy Tyrone Branch, of Fort Washington, 18-year-old Michael Moore, of Landover and a juvenile male were arrested for armed robbery.
On Aug. 18, Thomas “TC” Maslin was found on a porch of a home in the 700 block of North Carolina Avenue SE, after he had stopped at a bar on his way home from a Washington Nationals baseball game. He had been badly beaten and robbed. According to media reports, Maslin has undergone brain surgeries.
Police allege that after attacking Maslin, the suspects committed another armed robbery on the 1800 block of 18th Street NW and were arrested, police said. They had been released pre-trial in that robbery and were taken into custody for the Maslin case on Wednesday.
Police had released video of a vehicle of interest that was seen at an Exxon station shortly after the assault. Authorities have that car and say they have linked it to one of the suspects.
News outlets reported that Maslin’s wife, Abby Maslin, issued a statement that said in part, “The news of tonight’s arrests brings great relief to my family. We are indebted to the hard work of D.C. detectives and police.”
