Police are searching for the man who robbed a bank branch in a Virginia Wal-Mart store. The robber walked up to the counter of the Woodforest National Bank, located inside the Wal-Mart off Route 522 in Front Royal, about 12:50 p.m. on Friday.

The man handed a note to the teller, demanding money. No weapon was shown, but police said he threatened to shoot a clerk. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Warren County police searched the parking lot immediately after the robbery, but the man had already fled. A dark two-door convertible, possibly a burgundy Saab, was used as the getaway car in the heist, according to police.

The robber is described as a black man between 28 and 30 years old, around 6 feet 2 inches tall and 260 pounds. The man has a shaved head and a dark mark under one eye, according to police.

At the time of the robbery, he wore a black T-shirt, khaki pants and a khaki baseball hat.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lt. Kahle Magalis or Sgt. Gordon Foster at 540-635-7100 or 540-635-4128.
