In a separate Northeast incident, a man was shot not far from the Benning Road Metro station shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday, police said. A group of three approached him when he was in a car on the 4700 block of Benning Road NE, and one shot him. The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.
