The FBI and D.C. police are investigating a string of similar bank break-ins that have occurred in D.C. over the past two years.
The suspect entered each bank by cutting a hole in the wall through an abandoned building adjacent to the bank, but failed to steal money during any attempt.
The suspect targeted an ATM during the most recent break-in at an M&T Bank branch at 1420 Wisconsin Ave. NW in Georgetown on Aug. 24. In separate incidents, a Bank of America branch at 2631 Connecticut Ave. NW was broken into on May 24, 2011, and Aug. 17, 2012. Each break-in occurred early in the morning.
In the two most recent break-ins, the suspect is seen in security footage wearing a white Tyvek suit, a type of protective garment.
