A Capitol Heights man arrested after he allegedly engaged in sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl.
Kirk Douglas Yancey, 34, was charged with third-degree sex offense and solicitation of a minor, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.
The girl had been communicating with someone who claimed to be a 17-year-old boy over a social networking website. They agreed to meet, and after they engaged in sexual activity, Yancey told the girl that he was 24 years old, authorities said.
The victim told her parents about what had happened, and they called police. On Sept. 17, police went to the girl’s neighborhood after learning that Yancey was planning to meet her again. He was arrested as he exited his car.
