A 43-year-old woman was fondled in Springfield late Thursday afternoon — the 14th reported attack in the area, and the second on Thursday, that police believe was committed by one man.
About 5:45 p.m., a 43-year-old woman was walking in the 6000 block of Hibbling Avenue when a man grabbed her from behind and fondled her, Fairfax County police officials said. The victim turned and yelled at her attacker, and he fled.

The attacker was described as a man in his 20s who was wearing a black jacket and black pants.
In the past few months, there have been 14 reported fondling incidents in the Springfield area. Earlier on Thursday, a 23-year-old woman was attacked on Floyd Avenue near Erving Street, officials said.
On Nov. 1, a 42-year-old woman was fondled in the same block where Thursday afternoon’s assault occurred.
