A man was killed and two others were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision in Derwood, police said.
At about 10:30 a.m. Sunday, police went to the scene of the collision, at Airpark Road about one-half a mile north of Muncaster Mill Road. According to a preliminary investigation, the driver of a 2000 Mazda 626 was traveling northbound on Airpark Road and was trying to negotiate a curve. The car crossed into the southbound lanes and struck two other vehicles: a 2010 Lexus RX350 and a 2012 Acura TL.
The 53-year-old front-seat passenger of the Mazda died at the scene. The drivers of the Mazda and the Acura were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The Lexus’s driver was not injured.
Police are investigating the crash.
