Masked, armed men rob Burke bank

Fairfax County police have released surveillance photos of two armed men who robbed a Union Bank and Trust in Burke.

The robbers were wearing masks and dark clothing when they stormed the Union Bank and Trust at 6050 Burke Commons Road. They waived handguns and demanded cash, which tellers promptly handed over. The men then ran out of the bank.

Police described the robbers as black men between 25 and 30 years old. One was about 6 feet 2 inches tall, the other around 6-feet-6.

Anyone with information about the March 26 robbery should call Crime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS (8477).

Banks in Fairfax County have been the targets of a series of robberies. Some were allegedly ripped off by a sunglasses-wearing woman who was arrested last month moments after police say she knocked off her fifth bank.

But other suspects remain on the run, including a twentysomething white man who started by robbing banks in the Manassas area late last year. Since February, he has been hitting banks in Fairfax County.
