Montgomery County police are seeking information on the beating of a 72-year-old man who has been unable to talk to detectives due to his injuries.
About 8 p.m. Monday, Candelario Guevara-Guzman left his Silver Spring residence to go shopping. At about 3:30 a.m. the next day, his sons were walking home from a convenience store and found him unresponsive on the ground of an apartment building parking lot in the 8600 block of Garland Avenue, police said. That location is about a two-minute walk from the residence where the victim and his sons live.
Guevara-Guzman was physically beaten, but police said they do not know if a weapon was used in the assault. He was still in a hospital Wednesday, critically injured and unable to speak.
