A woman who was pulled from an early morning blaze in Upper Marlboro has died.
Prince George’s County firefighters responded to a two-story home in the 12800 block of Peachleaf Court in Upper Marlboro, around 3 a.m. Sunday, after an alarm monitoring company received a signal indicating an activated smoke alarm in the house.
Firefighters found fire in the basement and located an unconscious woman inside the house. The woman, who suffered serious burns on one-third of her body and smoke inhalation injuries, did not have pulse.
Firefighters re-established a pulse on the way to the hospital.
Fire investigators believe the fire was accidental.
Fire officials are expected later Monday to release the woman’s name and updated information about the cause and origin of the fire.
