Teen found guilty in murder of Catholic U. student
A D.C. teenager has been found guilty in the murder of a Catholic University student in Petworth.
Neil Godleski, 31, was gunned down in Sherman Circle shortly after midnight August 2010 while biking home from the restaurant where he worked as a waiter.
Prosecutors said Eric D. Foreman fired multiple shots at Godleski, then stood over the college student and fired two more shots. Foreman raked through Godleski’s pockets, stole $60 and fled. The motive was robbery, police said.
Godleski’s family has filed a $20 million wrongful death suit against the District, claiming that Foreman, then 16, was supposed to be under the supervision of the city at the time of the shooting.
BWI passenger charged with lewd acts
A 63-year-old passenger on a flight from Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport to Denver is facing federal charges after being accused of committing lewd acts on an airplane.
Passengers complained that the man had unbuttoned his pants while watching pornography and that he had exposed himself when a flight attendant asked him to stop, prosecutors said.
Daniel Drinan, of Reno, apologized and allegedly said he decided to touch himself because the lights were out, no one was next to him and he was tired, according to the criminal complaint.
Gang leader pleads to child sex trafficking
A MS-13 gang leader pleaded guilty Monday on sex trafficking charges for his role in running a teenager prostitution ring.
Yimmy Anthony Pineda Penado, 22, an illegal alien living in Montgomery County, faces 10 years to life. He is the 11th gang member convicted of child sex trafficking in the Easter District of Virginia since 2011, said U.S. Attorney Neil MacBride.
Pineda Penado’s operation was uncovered last year after a teenage girl escaped from his custody, prosecutors said.
