A mistakenly released murder suspect in Prince George’s County is back in custody after turning himself in Tuesday in Upper Marlboro.
Frederick Lawrence Scott appeared with his attorney at a bond hearing in Circuit Court and was immediately taken into custody, according to the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s office.
Scott, 24, was arrested in May and accused of fatally shooting a District man after a fight inside of a Prince George’s County club on March 4. He then gained his release when another defendant’s paperwork was mistakenly placed into his file, setting his bond at $75,000.
Officials discovered the error on Nov. 18, and a judge immediately issued a bench warrant for Scott’s arrest.
Scott is being held on $500,000 bond and is currently in custody, according to John Erzen, spokesman for the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.
