Ex-boyfriend arrested in slaying of strip club worker
The suspect in the shooting death of a 25-year-old Capitol Heights woman has been arrested in Landover.
No details about the arrest were available Tuesday morning, Prince George’s County police said.
Michael Jerome Stewart, 33, shot and killed his ex-girlfriend, Brittany Sade McKinley, after confronting her at a Capitol Heights strip club where she worked early Sunday morning, police said.
Stewart was kicked out to the club, then hid outside McKinley’s home on the 4600 block of Heath Street in Capitol Heights, according to police.
When McKinley drove up to the home with another woman about 6 a.m., Stewart fatally shot McKinley and shot the other woman, 23, in the hand, police said.
13-year-old shoots boy with BB gun at bus stop
A 13-year-old Laurel boy allegedly shot another student with a BB gun at a bus stop Tuesday morning, then took that weapon and a large knife to his Anne Arundel County middle school.
Anne Arundel County police and MacArthur Middle School officials searched the boy when he arrived at school Tuesday morning, after an unnamed parent reported seeing a student at a bus stop with a BB gun tucked in his waistband, according to police spokesman Justin Mulcahy.
Officials found the BB gun, as well as a seven-inch blade in the boy’s backpack, police said. An investigation determined the boy shot another 13-year-old male student in the leg at the bus stop.
The boy was charged on a juvenile citation with possessing a dangerous weapon on school property, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
Woman dies in fiery McLean crash
A woman was killed Tuesday afternoon in a fiery single-vehicle crash in McLean.
Fairfax County police said the woman lost control of her 2011 Toyota Sienna while driving on the 7800 block of Lewinsville Road at 12:18 p.m. The minivan struck a tree, then rolled back into the road before it caught fire. Police found a woman dead inside the charred vehicle.
Investigators are working to determine whether speed, alcohol or a medical condition were factors in the crash. Police are awaiting a full report from the medical examiner before identifying the victim.
