Teen stabbed on Metrobus in Foggy Bottom
A 17-year-old was stabbed on a Metrobus near Foggy Bottom midday Wednesday after a fight with another rider.
The stabbing happened on a Route 80 bus bound for Fort Totten when two men started arguing near the intersection of 21st and F streets, said Metro spokesman Dan Stessel. Police believe the two men knew each other.
One man stabbed the other, then fled.
The victim was taken to Georgetown University Hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
It was the second stabbing on a Metrobus this week.
Suspects sought in pigeon drop
Montgomery County police are searching for two suspects who scammed an 87-year-old woman out of $25,000.
Police say a man approached the elderly woman and another woman at a Giant in Silver Spring last week. He pulled out with a black bag full of cash and asked if it belonged to either of them.
The man said he would share the money if each ponied up $20,000 as a “good faith” contribution beforehand.
The other woman was part of the scam and immediately pulled out $20,000 in cash. The elderly woman gave the man $15,000 in cash and $10,000 in jewelry, police said.
The man and woman disappeared.
The woman was white, in her late 30s to 40s, 5 feet 4 inches tall with a round face. She might have been wearing a wig and might have blond hair.
The man was black, in his late 30s to 40s, about 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was a “fast talker” and well-dressed.
Anyone with information should call police at 240-773-6330.
