Putin-Trump, play ball!

Just in time for opening day of Major League Baseball, an odd and rare find is heading to the auction block: a baseball signed by former President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Signed in Sharpie two years ago, the authentic Rawlings ball could bring in as much as $20,000, especially as both Putin and Trump remain controversial political figures in the news and fans are eager for anything related to baseball after the long player lockout.

It has been at auction before, but it is unclear if it ever sold. Alexander Historical Auctions, a Maryland firm that regularly tips Secrets off to its great finds, plans to auction it online on April 7 — this year’s opening day of the baseball season.

Alexander Historical Auctions said the Putin signature was secured during a meeting on March 20, 2020, with the Uzbekistan president and that the Trump signature occurred at a March 2020 rally in North Carolina. Trump signed it with his specially made Sharpie.
