Fresh polling on Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-GA) call for a red state-blue state national political “divorce” shows that a third of likely voters approve, including 47% of Republicans and 26% of Democrats.
In the latest Rasmussen Reports survey shared with Secrets, 34% of voters approved of her call for a national break up and 57% disagreed.

The survey is the most recent to test the divorce call, though it is a question that has been asked over time.
In a recent Secrets report, pollster Jeremy Zogby said that his surveys have found support in all pockets for a political divorce, and the national Battleground Poll has charted majority concerns that the nation is headed for a civil war.
Greene, the Georgia Republican, is not pushing for a civil war or a breakup of the federal government. She said that her plan would have political like-minds live together and keep the national government in charge of its larger roles, including protecting the nation from attack.
The analysis from Rasmussen, which has been polling on the U.S. political divide for years, expressed surprise that many Democrats blame their side for much of the division.

“Which party is more to blame for making America politically divided? Forty-one percent (41%) of voters blame Democrats, while 32% say Republicans are more to blame for dividing America. Twenty-five percent (25%) believe both parties are about equally to blame,” said Rasmussen.
The pollster added: “Perhaps surprisingly, 29% of Democratic voters think their own party is more to blame for dividing America, compared to just 15% of GOP voters who say Republicans are more to blame. Sixty percent (60%) of Republicans blame Democrats for dividing the country, compared to 46% of Democrats who say Republicans are more to blame.”
