Swing state voters: Hillary Clinton ‘not honest and trustworthy’

A majority of voters in the key swing states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Florida say Hillary Clinton is “not honest and trustworthy,” according to a new poll from Quinnipiac University.

In Florida, voters said by a 51 percent to 43 percent margin that Clinton was not honest or trustworthy — and that was her best performance. In Ohio, voters by a 53 percent to 40 percent said they didn’t trust her and in Pennsylvania, voters said they didn’t trust her 54 percent to 40 percent.

The polls come as she relaunches her candidacy with ongoing questions stemming from her use of a private server for emails while at the State Department and conflicts of interests involving donations to her family foundation.

Just this past Sunday, campaign manager Robby Mook said that “no poll shows that voters don’t trust Hillary.”

Despite the lack of trust, voters still edged out or tied Republican candidates in each state, with the one exception being Ohio, where she trailed John Kasich by a statistically significant 47 percent to 40 percent, which is no doubt going to provide a boost to him as he prepares to launch his candidacy.

Kasich, who has angered conservatives by bypassing the Republican legislature to expand Medicaid through Obamacare, has touted his popularity in the Buckeye state, arguing that Republicans can’t win the presidency without Ohio.
