To declare one’s pronouns is stupid. To change them after declaring them is downright asinine.
Singer Demi Lovato announced that she, once again, had changed her pronouns during an interview on the Spout podcast on Tuesday.
“Yeah, so, they/them is, um, I’ve actually adopted the pronouns of she/her again with me,” Lovato said. “So for me, I’m such a fluid person that I don’t really — I don’t find that I am, I felt like, especially last year, my energy was balanced and my masculine and feminine energy so that when I was faced with the choice of walking into a bathroom, and it said ‘Women’ and ‘Men,’ I didn’t feel like there was a bathroom for me because I didn’t feel necessarily like a woman.”
Seriously, can we just start referring to Lovato as “it”? That would simplify everything and eliminate this embarrassingly toxic, privileged nonsense of pronoun declarations.
Lovato’s comments are just ridiculous. Gender isn’t a choice on the McDonald’s value meal menu. People cannot choose their pronouns. Lovato likely has severe, unresolved medical problems that no amount of pronoun-pretending can fix. It’s only because she is a celebrity that anyone takes this hogwash seriously.
Lovato’s “fluidity” is nothing more than a mockery of humanity, part of which is sex. To cater to her pronouns has nothing to do with acceptance, tolerance, transgender rights, or equality. This is straight-up delusion and insanity that should not be normalized in any way.
Still, we can be thankful for Lovato’s admission. Proponents claim it’s normal and backed by science to declare oneself male when female, female when male, or plural when singular. But Lovato’s flip-flopping demonstrates what every sane, rational person knew all along: Pronoun shopping is a choice and not even remotely compatible with science. There is not, nor has there ever been or ever will be, science that validates gender-flipping. It is further evidence of the sheer stupidity and toxicity of transgender ideology.
