Though most of of the attention on election night was on the Republican takeover of the U.S. Senate, when all the dust settles, the GOP may rack up a more historic achievement in the House of Representatives — winning the most seats in any election since 1928.
Going into Tuesday’s elections, Republicans held 233 seats in the House. ABC News has projected that the GOP could gain 14 to 18 seats, bringing them to a range of 247 to 251 seats.

Either way, it would be the most seats ever won by the party since the 1928 election, when the party won 270.
