Allegations of sexual harassment and discrimination have loomed over Michael Bloomberg’s presidential campaign since he entered the race late last year. And it seems he just admitted that he does, in fact, have a problem.
Bloomberg was grilled during Wednesday’s Democratic debate on the dozens of nondisclosure agreements he has with former female employees. When asked why these women weren’t allowed to speak publicly, Bloomberg said: “We have very few NDA’s … probably because some women didn’t like some jokes I told.”
For reference, some of those “jokes” went something like this: “Look at that nice piece of ass,” Bloomberg allegedly said about women in his New York City office. Prior to a male colleague’s wedding, Bloomberg allegedly told a group of female employees to “line up to give him a blow job as a wedding present.” And upon learning that a female employee was pregnant, he allegedly said, “Kill it!”
It seems many of Bloomberg’s female employees didn’t find his “jokes” as funny as he did, because several filed lawsuits and even more ended up signing NDA’s. This is a big problem, and Bloomberg’s inability to address it spells disaster for his presidential campaign.
Someone so willing to make derogatory and hostile comments about women has no business representing or leading this country. (Yes, that includes President Trump). Bloomberg doesn’t deserve the female vote, and his poor performance during Wednesday’s debate will ensure he won’t convince anyone otherwise.
