In a Holiday email, President Cecile Richards of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, thanked supporters for standing strong, “during the most difficult year in our history.”
“We know that the challenges ahead are real, and that the work of protecting access to reproductive health care will be difficult. We will need you with us, and I can’t tell you how much it means to me and to everyone at Planned Parenthood to know that we have you with us.” Richards added.

Several states such as Wisconsin, Indiana, Kansas, and North Carolina all cut off funds from Planned Parenthood this year, but Federal judges blocked the proposed cuts in Indiana, Kansas, and North Carolina.
House Republicans passed legislation proposed by Rep. Mike Pence to bar any federal funds for Planned Parenthood, but thanks to Democratic majorities in the Senate the bill never went further.
After Pence’s legislation passed the House, online gifts to Planned Parenthood reportedly surged by 500 percent. According to FEC reports, the group’s PAC, Planned Parenthood Action, had already raised $297,227 as of October 3rd in the 2011-2012 cycle.
