Director Spike Lee aplogized last night for tweeting the wrong address for George Zimmerman to his Twitter followers. Zimmerman is at the center of the national controversy after he shot and killed an African American teenager Trayvon Martin.
“I Deeply Apologize To The McClain Family For Retweeting Their Address,” Lee tweeted. “It Was A Mistake. Please Leave The McClain’s In Peace. Justice In Court.”

Lee had retweeted an address where Zimmerman was supposedly living. The address, however, belonged to an elderly couple in Florida, David and Elaine McClain, who had nothing to do with the incident. They have temporarily left their home out of fear for their safety.
