In February 2012, President Obama joked to a Florida Republican that Marco Rubio should turn down a potential request from Mitt Romney to be his running mate, according to a new book by Glenn Thrush.
“Tell your boy to watch it. He might get his ass kicked,” Obama reportedly said with a chuckle.
