Newt Gingrich lined up for another famous tussle with a debate moderator, belittling CNN’s Wolf Blitzer for questioning his attacks on Mitt Romney’s finances.
“Look you and I have a great relationship that goes back a long way,” Gingrich replied, calling Blitzer’s question “a nonsense question” adding that he was willing to talk about his attack in a TV interview, but not a debate.

Blitzer shot back, “Mr. Speaker, you made an issue of this in this week, when you said that he (Romney) lives in a world of Swiss Bank and Cayman Island bank accounts, I didn’t say that, you did. . . if you make a serious accusation against Mitt Romney, you need to explain that.”
Romney cut in, asking, “Wouldn’t it be nice if people couldn’t make accusations somewhere else if they weren’t able to defend it?”
For the rest of the night, Gingrich was cautious when addressing Blitzer.
