Campaign staffers in control of President Obama’s official Twitter account deleted a message touting the Obama campaign’s “holiday” ornaments for supporters Christmas Trees.
“Add some #Obama2012 holiday cheer to your Christmas tree with our red and green ornaments.” the message read from Obama’s Twitter account, linking to the campaign page selling the ornaments. (The link to the ornaments is now dead)

According to “Politwoops,” an archive of political tweets created the Sunlight Foundation, the message was deleted 31 seconds after it was posted.
Back in November, a Fox News story highlighted the campaign’s definition of “holiday” ornaments in a story which sparked some controversy.
Also featured among the deleted tweets was the celebrity-driven “Runway to Win” project after it came under criticism after it was featured on the Drudge Report. The RNC also attacked the Obama campaign for appearing out of touch, by selling expensive campaign merchandise.
“Be the first to get updates on #RunwayToWin, a collaboration by top American fashion designers in support of #Obama2012” read the message that was live for 14 minutes before it was deleted.
