At the Atlantic sponsored Washington Ideas Forum, Paul Ryan was asked this morning if he agreed with “conventional wisdom” that Romney was going to be the GOP nominee.
“We’ve seen so many times in these presidential elections where conventional wisdom gets thrown out the door.” Ryan replied, reminding the audience of Howard Dean’s implosion.

Ryan pointed out that Steve Forbes and Phil Graham were “signing up” with Rick Perry.
“There are luminaries in the conservative movement that are giving his candidacy a lift,” said Ryan, “I don’t think this is going to be a runaway, I think this is going to be a real race.”
