HDnet’s Dan Rather thinks that Rush Limbaugh’s controversial comments will hurt Republicans in November, perhaps even costing them the presidency.
When asked about Romney’s response to Limbaugh’s comments on CNN, Rather said that he belived Romney ‘made a mistake’ by not disavowing the conservative commentator.

“This is the kind of thing that any decent person, any person aspiring to the presidency should be able to deal with straight forwardly saying, ‘no, this is not right.'” Rather said.
Last week, Romney said that Limbaugh’s words were, “not the language I would have used,”
“If they lose in November, this may be one, we look back, the landmark times,” Rather added, suggesting that Independents and women were leaning towards Democrats, “It’s got to hurt them, it may not be a fatal political hurt, but It will hurt them.” Rather concluded.
